What: Recognized as the premier scientific gathering on the topic of military psychological health, this international conference shares the latest advances in the state of the science on the prevention and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and commonly co-occurring conditions that affect military service members and veterans.
Agenda Highlights: Keynote speaker, Dr. Barbara Rothbaum of Emory University, will discuss the promise of psychedelic-assisted therapy for PTSD treatment. “Profiles in Resilience” speaker, FOX News correspondent, and New York Times best-selling author Benjamin Hall will address factors that contributed to his resolve in overcoming the psychological aftermath of trauma from a critical injury he sustained while covering the war in Ukraine. Dr. Joseph Alderete and other members of Hall’s care team at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio will share their experience in encouraging his inherent resilience and post-traumatic optimism. Other speakers will share strategies to optimize PTSD treatment outcomes, treat post-traumatic headache without medication, address trauma-related guilt and shame, and consider self-compassion, moral injury, and spirituality in the context of evidence-based treatments.
