School of Nursing Undergraduate New Student Orientation

The goal of New Student Orientation (NSO) is to provide incoming nursing students with the tools needed to transition to nursing school or UT San Antonio.

The School of Nursing New Student Orientation is coordinated by the Student Success Center and is offered in two stages – asynchronous, self-paced orientation modules and a synchronous day of faculty, student, and staff panels and presentations.

Both of these aspects of NSO are mandatory for all incoming students.

The live undergraduate orientation provides incoming students with the opportunity to hear from offices such as the Office of Academic Affairs, the Student Success Center, the Office of Student Life, and the Counseling Center.

Additionally, there is allotted time for incoming students to ask questions to current faculty about class and clinical expectations, as well as ask current students about their experiences in nursing school.
