Mark your calendars for the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society’s Starfish Dash 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair at the Health Science Center campus on Saturday, April 25, for a morning of family-friendly fun to support special-needs kids and families. The free event will take place at 7431 Merton Minter, in the park behind Gold’s Gym. Check-ins will begin at 8 a.m.

The official Fiesta event — sponsored by The University of Texas at San Antonio — will offer activities for the whole family, including music, face painting, free health screenings, complimentary coffee and donuts and much more.

The event will celebrate Fiesta while raising awareness and funds for families affected by rare chromosome 18 conditions that can impact how the body and brain grow and develop. Click here to learn more about chromosome 18 conditions.

The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society is the primary funder of its sister organization, the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center at the Health Science Center campus.

To participate in the 5K Run/Walk as a family or team, be sure to pick the team option during registration. Pick a fun name for your team and encourage your friends and family to join in the fun.
