 ounding director\, Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenera
 tive Diseases whose research focuses on uncovering the biology of Alzheime
 r’s and related dementias\, stroke and vascular brain injury. She contin
 ues to see patients and lead clinical trials of promising therapies.\n\nEl
 ena Volpi\, MD\, professor in the Department of Medicine\, Division of Ger
 iatrics\, Gerontology and Palliative Medicine and director of the Sam and 
 Ann Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies. Her research center
 s on understanding the mechanisms behind involuntary muscle loss in aging 
 and developing innovative treatments—nutritional\, exercise and pharmaco
 logical—to enhance muscle growth and recovery in older adults.\n\nMatthe
 w Wicklund\, MD\, professor in the Department of Neurology and director\, 
 Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Multidisciplinary Care Center whose r
 esearch focuses on recent advancements in the treatment of Parkinson's dis
 ease\, stroke management and outcomes\, and the development of genetics-ba
